Most employees are eligible for leave accruals‚ which are accrued benefits that provide paid time off with management approval.
The following employees are NOT eligible for leave accruals:
- Student Employees
- Graduate Assistants
- Special Pay
- Per Diem
Leave accruals are earned following the completion a qualifying month of service. This consists of at least 11 days of pay during a given pay period for full-time and part-time employees. For intermittent employees (hourly staff)‚ a qualifying month of service consists of 160 hours.
The amount of leave accruals earned depends on an employee’s appointment type (full-time‚ part-time‚ and intermittent).
All employees (except for those noted above) receive one Personal Holiday each calendar year‚ which expires if not used by December 31st.
Employees can view their vacation and sick leave balances using PeopleSoft self-service.
